Established fact, internationally recognised

Manipulation

“If you're not with us, you're against us.”

False dilemma — a rhetorical device, not a fact

Live or on a video

Live listening

Captured speech is analysed in real time, claim after claim.

Video analysis

Paste a link: the track is transcribed then scrutinised.

How it works

Truth, made simple.

Check what you hear or watch. Nothing to install, no expertise required.

Veritap puts the power of AI within everyone's reach: it establishes the facts, cites its sources and decodes attempts at manipulation. The clear head is yours to keep.

Two ways to use Veritap

Pick whichever suits the moment: the same engine, the same verdicts, the same BullshitMeter.

Live listening

In the thick of a conversation

Start listening and Veritap follows the speech picked up by your smartphone, smart glasses or browser. Verdicts appear in real time, without interrupting the exchange.

Analyse content

No account needed to begin: content analysis gives you 3 free minutes, right away.

Your first steps

Three steps, a few seconds. No technical skills required.

  1. 1

    Launch Veritap

One click to start listening, or paste a link to analyse. That's it: nothing to install, nothing to configure.

  2. 2

    Let the AI work

Speech is transcribed on the fly, claims are fact-checked and the rhetoric is run through the manipulation detector.

  3. 3

Read it and take back control

The BullshitMeter shows a score from 0 to 100, the sources, the counter-arguments and any detected manipulation. Reply with ready-to-use arguments.

Why you can trust it

Facts, always sourced

Every verdict draws on public information, statistics and scientific data, with the sources shown so you can check for yourself.

Several AIs, no black box

Veritap pits several artificial intelligences against each other rather than relying on just one, and explains its logic in plain terms.

Manipulation decoded

Beyond the facts, Veritap spots fallacies, ad hominem attacks and destabilisation tactics, to help you keep a cool head.

Free to start

Try it without creating an account. You stay in control of when you start listening and what you analyse.

What we believe

At Veritap, we're convinced that artificial intelligence can make people's lives better. Our goal: help everyone decode and understand the information that reaches them, and reply, with factual arguments and repartee, to lies, inaccuracies and attempts at manipulation.

Under the hood

Veritap's algorithm

How Veritap decides whether a statement is true, false… or manipulative.

No black box. Here, in plain terms, is how Veritap pits several AIs against each other, compares sources and computes its scores, both when listening live and on a piece of content you hand it.

Multi-AI face-off

Several AIs, never just one

Veritap automates what everyone naturally does to check a claim: search the Internet for sources, then ask AIs for their opinion. Veritap first searches the web for sources, then sends each statement, along with those sources, in parallel to a panel of independent frontier AIs: Grok, Gemini, Mistral and Claude. Each one returns its verdict, citing the sources that back it. Veritap then confronts these opinions: unanimity strengthens the conclusion, disagreement is shown rather than hidden.

Web research first

Veritap queries the web at the moment of analysis and hands the AIs fresh sources, not a frozen memory. Recent facts are taken into account.

Evidence wins

A verdict backed by sources counts up to 3 times more than a mere opinion with no reference. One AI that actually checked beats two that simply believe.

Disagreement is visible

When the AIs diverge, Veritap says so ("2/3 agree") instead of deciding in silence. You see the level of consensus.

The four verdicts

Every statement gets a colour-coded badge, along with a confidence level and the number of AIs in agreement. And since Phase 10, Veritap detects irony and second-degree meaning: an ironic statement is not judged at face value — the verdict bears on what the author actually argues.

True

Confirmed by reliable, concordant sources.

Partially true

Partly accurate, but misleading, incomplete or taken out of context.

False

Contradicted by reliable sources.

Unverifiable

No public source settles it. Important: an unverifiable statement never counts against the speaker. "Impossible to check" is not the same as "a lie".

BullshitMeter

The lie score, from 0 to 100

The needle only rises on what is factually false. Only "false" verdicts (full weight) and "partially true" ones (half weight) push it up, weighted by the confidence and importance of the statement. A single big lie is enough to move the BullshitMeter. True or unverifiable statements carry no weight at all.

0 · Trustworthy50100 · Highly dubious

Presumption of good faith: as long as nothing is proven false, the score stays low.

Manipulation axis

A second radar, independent of the facts

You can string together ten true statements and still build a misleading argument. That's why Veritap measures a second axis, in purple: rhetorical manipulation. Fallacies (straw man, ad hominem, false dilemma), misleading devices (whataboutism, loaded language) and emotional pressure (fear, urgency, guilt-tripping) are spotted and explained.

Its own scale

The manipulation score is computed separately: severity of the device × certainty of the detection. Several devices push the purple needle up.

Objective detection

Veritap identifies manipulation mechanisms from recognised rhetorical patterns. The analysis is systematic and free of human bias.

Educational

Every detected device is named and explained: Veritap doesn't just flag, it sharpens the mind.

Live or on content: the same engine

Live listening

Veritap listens to the speech picked up by your smartphone, glasses or browser, and shows verdicts and scores as the conversation unfolds.

Content analysis

Paste a video link: Veritap transcribes and analyses it end to end, with exactly the same verdicts, sources and scores.

Why you can trust the verdict

1

Sources, always

Every factual verdict cites public references, clickable and verifiable by you.

2

The power of the face-off

No single AI decides. Cross-checking opinions neutralises the error or bias of any isolated model.

3

Two measures, not one

Truthfulness and manipulation are scored separately: you know whether a statement is false, manipulative, both, or neither.

4

Honest about its limits

When a fact can't be established, Veritap admits it ("unverifiable") instead of inventing certainty.

The sources Veritap consults

Depending on what a claim is about, Veritap grounds its AIs in open sources — web search and public databases. Our thanks to the projects that make verification possible:

Web search (SearXNG)

self-hosted open-source metasearch engine — cited pages remain their publishers' own

Wikipedia & Wikidata

free encyclopedia and knowledge base (public source profiles)

Google Fact Check Tools

fact-checks already published by newsrooms (AFP Factuel, Les Décodeurs, Snopes…)

World Bank

official statistics (inflation, unemployment, GDP, population…)

Europe PMC

biomedical literature

OpenAlex

open-access scholarly publications

Crossref

scholarly publication metadata, including retractions

GDELT

global news monitoring

Eurostat

official European statistics (harmonised data from INSEE and national institutes)

These sources provide context: none of them decides a verdict on its own, and every result card cites the references actually used.

Phase 10 — Available now

Veritap, Beta test.

Veritap now understands irony and second-degree meaning, manipulation detection is open to everyone, and skin gamification rewards your time.

Understanding irony and second degree

Phase 10 teaches Veritap to stop reading everything literally: before extracting a single claim, it establishes who is speaking (press, satire, historical text…) and the register of the whole text. A Montesquieu-style antiphrasis or an Onion-style article is assessed on its intended meaning, not its letter — and the detected register is always displayed, and can be disputed.

Manipulation detection for all

The second axis of analysis — fallacies, rhetorical devices, emotional pressure — is now active from your first session, regardless of plan. Purple colour code, pedagogical badges, political neutrality guardrails.

Dispute the verdicts

Disagree with a verdict or a manipulation detection? Dispute it in one click: Veritap runs a second analysis and returns an independent opinion in under 10 seconds.

Live repartee (Expert)

Under each detected lie or manipulation, get three tonally distinct repartee suggestions (factual, witty, firm), ready to copy. Automatic abstention on named political figures.
